Man Escapes After Threatening Portland State U. Officer

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man allegedly threatened a Portland State University security officer with a gun before fleeing to a parking structure on the campus. He managed to escape before police could fully contain the garage.

David W. Chilton and another man, Mark Fox, were seen loitering outside the university’s Center for Science Education on Monday, The Oregonian reports. An officer approached them, and after talking with the men, he learned there was a warrant out for the arrest of Fox.

When Fox was put in handcuffs, Chilton allegedly began threatening the officer. Chilton then asked the officer “if he wanted to die” before fleeing toward the parking garage.
