PORTLAND, Ore. — Reed College issued an alert on Dec. 20 after an armed man was seen in a vehicle in the East Campus parking lot. The man was later found dead in his vehicle by police after he allegedly committed suicide.
A cell phone ping placed a missing suicidal man in the college’s parking lot. When police approached the vehicle, the driver was slumped over and unresponsive, according to The Portland Mercury.
During the 90 minute incident, college officials sent out updates to 200 employees via email, text and phone calls.
