Man arrested for entering high school with loaded gun

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Dominique Williams, 19, was arrested Nov. 19 after he entered his former high school with a fully-loaded .25 caliber handgun.

Williams arrived at John Adams High School on a South Bend Community School Corp. bus, WSBT reports. Authorities are trying to determine why Williams went to the school with a gun. He reportedly told police officers that he was in the school to deliver something to a staff member, but police said that was not true.

According to WSBT, district officials released a short statement:

“The quick action and vigilance of the John Adams High School security personnel and the School Resource Officer led to the arrest of a young man outside of the school who was in possession of a gun,” the statement read. “This matter is still under investigation by the South Bend Community School Corporation and the South Bend Police Department.”
