Maine Psychiatric Center To Review Security

AUGUSTA, Maine – A national security expert has been hired by the Riverview Psychiatric Center to evaluate the facility’s security measures and compliance with a 1990 court order.

The hiring was prompted by a patient attack on a worker in February. During the incident, the employee was nearly killed. The review will take place over the summer and should be completed by the fall. It will not only take into consideration the February attack, but other issues, including staffing.
