Longtime School Employee Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography

MIAMI, Fla. — An employee from Paul W. Bell Middle School was arrested Dec. 17 on 30 counts of possessing child pornography. The arrest was made on the same day he was allegedly set to portray Santa Claus at the school.

Charlie Garcia, 30, has worked for the school for 11 years as a computer-information technology employee, the Sun Sentinel reports. Police say there is no indication that Garcia engaged in inappropriate activities with children.

Approximately 50 images of child pornography were discovered on Garcia’s computer by a police internet task force. Garcia used a file-sharing program to obtain the images.
