Local Donations Help Ariz. School Upgrade Security

KINGMAN, Ariz. — After receiving donations from two local businesses, Kingman Academy of Learning (KAOL) Primary School has installed new locks on all classroom doors, added a gate outside the playground area, and hosted crisis-situation training for staff members.

The school received $5,600 to purchase 18 door locks that can be secured from the inside from Abe and Tiffany Martinez, a couple whose daughter attends KAOL and owns a McDonald’s franchise. Integrator Ron Gordon of Northwest Lock and Safe installed the locks for free, the Daily Miner reports.

Kingman Police, along with KAOL school resource officers trained staff to be on alert for various dangerous situations.
