In a follow-up to a 2005 computer security audit, the University of Kansas (KU)received poor marks after implementing only five of the 33 policy recommendations.
The report was conducted by the Kansas Legislative Division of Post Audit and evaluated the progress made by the University of Kansas, Kansas State University and Emporia State University. According to The University Daily Kansan, KU had implemented the fewest policy recommendations.
Eleven more recommendations are in draft form. According to the university’s director of assessment and outreach for information services, Bill Myers, the size of the university made it a difficult and lengthy process to implement new policies.
