PINEHURST, N.C. — The State Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital after a man was killed outside the facility on Saturday night.
Ronald Armstrong was being checked into the emergency room when he attempted to leave, WRAL.com reports. Nurses summoned security officers to help restrain Armstrong. The security officers used a stun gun on Armstrong at least three times, according to his relatives.
Hospital spokeswoman Gretchen Kelly said that the hospital’s security officers do not carry stun guns.
