Indiana Student Dies After Falling from Building

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – A 19-year-old Wabash College student died Oct. 28 after falling from the roof of campus building, Goodrich Hall.

Patrick Michael Woehnker’s body was found by campus police. Jim Amidon, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, said officials were unclear as to why Woehnker was on the top of the building.

A private liberal arts college for men, Wabash College, has 900 students. Word of Woehnker’s death spread quickly.

Goodrich Hall, Amidon said, was closed during the incident. The building is an academic building.

Woehnker was a on the swimming and diving team at the college. He was also a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Counselors were brought in by officials to help students grieve.

The Wabash Dean of Students and the Crawfordsville Police Department are still conducting an investigation for the incident.
