Idaho Hospital Hires Local Sheriff Department to Provide Security

POCATELLO, Idaho – Officers from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department will now provide security at Madison Memorial Hospital.

Formerly, a private security firm provided protective services to the facility, but its contract was allowed to expire.

The change was made so incidents could be handled faster. According to hospital officials, this will be achieved because the deputies can handle all aspects of security, including arrests.

The extra revenue generated from providing these services will allow the sheriff’s department to hire two additional officers. The new hires will work in the hospital but then be rotated with other officers.
