Houston Teacher Captured on Video Beating Student

HOUSTON – A Jamie’s House Charter School teacher has been fired after a video emerged that shows her allegedly beating a student.

Sheri Lynn Davis, a science teacher at the school, was placed on administrative leave May 5 after the student’s mother reported the incident. However, once officials saw the video, on Fox Channel 26, Davis was fired. The video, which allegedly shows Davis kicking a middle school boy on the floor and slapping him in his face, was captured on a cell phone camera.

Davis taught at the charter school for three years and has never had any complaints against her, school officials said.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children unit is planning to launch an investigation.
