Hospital Knife Standoff Ends Peacefully

A man with a knife peacefully surrendered after running to the helicopter pad on the roof of a Massachusetts hospital.

A man with a knife threatened to kill police officers and himself on the roof of a Massachusetts hospital before peacefully surrendering on April 3.

Police say Timothy Cullinane, 59, ran to the helicopter landing pad on the roof of Emerson Hospital and pulled out a knife before engaging in a two-hour standoff. The incident required the local SWAT Team and other law enforcement agencies, as well as a negotiator.

After surrendering police brought Cullinane into the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, according to patch.com. He is being held without bail and faces multiple charges.
