AURORA, Colo. – A University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz Medical Center campus police officer fatally shot a suspect near the hospital grounds.
The incident occurred on March 19, when the CU Denver Police Department responded to a report of a suicidal man in a parking garage at the hospital. When police tried to contact the man, he drove off in a vehicle, 9news.com reports.
The man was shot during the traffic stop and he died shortly after being taken to Anschutz Medical Center.
Police are now investigating whether the man was armed or made any threatening actions. Additionally, authorities want to determine why the officer fired at the suspect, The Denver Channel reports.
