Hospital Employee Opens Fake Accounts Using Patient Info

QUINCY, Mass. — A woman who worked at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and her brother used patient information to open fake accounts, according to police.

Fallon Delacruz was fired after police informed the infirmary that she and her brother Emmanuel Delacruz stole patient information, the Patriot Ledger reports. Mass. Eye and Ear is offering a year of free credit monitoring to the 3,600 patients whose Social Security numbers were potentially accessed by Fallon Delacruz.

The siblings are charged with three counts of identity fraud and three counts of larceny over $250 by false impersonation.
