DENVER — Accused theater shooter James Holmes called a University of Colorado (CU) switchboard nine minutes before he allegedly opened fire in a movie theater, killing 12 people and wounding 58.

Holmes’ lawyer, Tamara Brady, revealed in a court hearing Thursday that the number Homes called can be used to contact faculty members after regular hours, CNN reports.

Brady asked Holmes’ psychiatrist, Dr. Lynne Fenton, if she was aware that Holmes made the call, The New York Times reports. Fenton said she was not.

The switchboard was reportedly for the university hospital, indicating that Holmes was attempting to contact Fenton.
