PORTLAND, Ore. — Grant High School has installed six separate unisex bathrooms for students and staff who identify as transgender.
School officials decided to install the restrooms after LGBT students stated they didn’t feel comfortable or safe using school bathrooms, ABC News reports. There are four restrooms dedicated for students and two for staff.
The bathrooms, outfitted with locks on the inside and “unisex” signs on the door, are open to all students.
