WEST YORKSHIRE, England — Shelley College, a co-ed public high school, removed bathroom mirrors and banned female students from wearing makeup on campus.
A group of female students was spending too much time in the bathroom touching up makeup, Today reports. They would stay there to eat lunch and make other students feel uncomfortable when they entered the bathroom, head teacher John McNally said.
The school’s previous policy called for “discreet” makeup, but some girls were regularly wearing heavy mascara and foundation, according to McNally.
