Former Littleton Public Schools security guard Christina Kolk has settled her case with the district for $6,000.

Kolk claims she was put on leave because she criticized administrators for not heeding her and other officers’ warnings about a 17-year-old Arapahoe High School student who, only a few months after their warnings, shot and killed a classmate.

Karl Pierson, 18, was targeting his debate coach when he entered the high school on Dec. 13 with a shotgun, a machete and homemade bombs. The student killed Claire Davis, 17, before killing himself in the school library.

ABC 7 is reporting that about two months before the shooting, Kolk caught Pierson looking at guns on his computer. At about that same time, he also threatened to kill his debate coach. Kolk claims administrators discouraged her from writing reports about Pierson and that her concerns were not documented.

Another security officer, Cameron Rust, was also paid a settlement of $75,000. Both Rust and Kolk publically criticized the district for not paying attention to their warnings about Pierson.
