Four elementary schools in Rockdale County, Georgia, will get new security vestibules installed over the summer after a county board vote April 23.
The Rockdale County Board of Education approved the $128,901 renovations, which are expected to be completed July 21. The vestibules will form a space that leads visitors to the front offices when they enter the building, according to rockdalecitizen.com.
The four schools being worked on will be the Barksdale, Honey Creek, Flat Shoals and J.H. House elementary schools. The vestibules will join the buzz-in systems already installed at all Rockdale schools, which are attached to live-feed cameras at each school’s main doors.
The county signed a contract with Covington’s Sunbelt Builders Inc. for the construction.
