The Manatee School District in Florida settled one of five lawsuits related to allegations that a former employee behaved inappropriately.
On Tuesday Adinah Torres reached a $75,000 settlement after claiming Manatee High School violated Title IX by retaliating against her after she reported inappropriate behavior by former assistant football coach Roderick Frazier. Torres originally filed the complaint July 29 and reached a settlement November 10, according to Bradenton.com.
Frazier, who also worked as a school-parent liaison, pleaded no contest in April to four misdemeanor counts of battery and two counts of interfering with school attendance. The other four lawsuits the district faces were filed by three adults, including the former Manatee High school principal and a student who claims Frazier interfered with her education by taking her out of class and sexually harassing her.
