MELBOURNE, Fla. – A 20-year-old student at Brevard Community College was arrested in connection with an on-campus explosion.
The explosion took place shortly before 11:15 a.m., Oct. 2 in an elevator shaft on campus. No one was injured in the incident although the school was locked down and classes were canceled.
A makeshift device, described as a glass bottle or jar, was detonated, causing the blast. Prior to the explosion, there had been complaints of a sulphur smell around the area.
Officials said Michael Woodson was arrested; however, details of the arrest were not available.
