Ex-Employee Allegedly Takes Info of 741 Patients

HOUSTON—A former employee of IntraCare North Hospital allegedly took the information of 741 patients.

The ex-employee was an intake coordinator at the hospital with access to patient records from March 15 to Aug. 18, 2011, My Fox Houston reports. Several of the patients who were affected by the theft have reported that false income tax returns were filed using their information.

Hospital officials did not discover the security breach until April 18 after the employee had been fired.
