Drunken Man Arrested for Punching Hospital Security Guard

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. — Police arrested a Parkview Noble Hospital patient with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .27 Saturday after he punched a hospital security guard in the face.

Scott Sponable, 66, was at the hospital because he had a BAC more than three times the legal limit of .08, wane.com reports. Around 7:10 p.m., hospital personnel contacted police after Sponable punched a 58-year-old security guard in the face in the emergency room. When police arrived on the scene, multiple nurses, as well as the victim, were holding Sponable on a bed.

After his arrest, Sponable made verbal threats against the arresting officer. The man now faces preliminary charges of intimidation, battery, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
