Dorm Robbery Prompts 5-Hour Lockdown

MOBILE, Ala. — The University of South Alabama went into lockdown for more than five hours after a student was robbed at gunpoint in his dorm room Sunday.

A student invited two non-students into dorm room, and they pulled a gun and stole about $1,000 and the student’s cell phone, the Press-Register reports. One of the suspects then fled to a nearby residence hall where he entered a student’s room and hid. Police performed a door-to-door search and arrested the suspect.

The second man has not yet been apprehended.
