District Begins Access Control Installations in 18 Schools

LYNN, Mass.

The Lynn Public Schools District is installing key scan card systems in 18 schools in an effort to control access of individuals entering the campus buildings.

The $75,000 project will include the installation of the access control systems in one junior/senior high school and 17 elementary schools. The decision was made following the steps of Lynn’s public high schools, which are already equipped with the card scan system, reports ItemLive.com.

Mayor-elect Judith Flanagan Kennedy has also proposed adding resource officers at the public schools. According to ItemLive.com, that change is expected to take place after Kennedy is sworn in on Jan. 4.
