SUMMIT, N.J. – Starting this fall semester, parents of students who attend Summit Public Schools who forget things like their sack lunches or homework won’t be able to drop those items off for their kids during the school day.
Parents were notified of the change via E-mail on Friday, reports NJ.com. Safety was cited as the reason for the revised policy.
Now, if a child forgets their lunch, they will be issued an IOU and allowed to buy a lunch. If they forget something else, like athletic equipment or a musical instrument, the student will experience the consequences of their forgetfulness.
