Girl Killed, Dean & Student Stabbed in Lunchtime Fight

SOUTH GATE, Calif. — Arraignment for the student accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death on the campus of South East High School was rescheduled for Oct. 25. It was initially scheduled for Oct. 4.

Abraham Lopez allegedly attacked Cindi Santana on Sept. 30 during lunchtime, stabbing her, the Los Angeles Times reports. Another student and a school dean who tried to intervene were also stabbed.

The wounded were transported to local hospitals, the Los Angeles Times reports. Santana died of her injuries. The other student and the dean suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The fight broke out at about 11 a.m. Friday. The school was put on lockdown until 1 p.m.
