Dad Threatens Family at Hospital Where Wife Was Giving Birth

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Police arrested a man at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, where his wife was giving birth, after he allegedly threatened a family in the waiting room with a knife.

The May 11 incident occurred when Tobby Smith, 19, entered the labor/delivery waiting room, where he began using obscenities as he complained about the hospital. When another man, who was waiting with his wife and child, told Smith to watch his language, the suspect reportedly pulled out a pocket knife and threatened to kill the man, the Herald Citizen reports.

Smith, who was forced to leave hospital grounds, faces charges of aggravated assault.
