SACRAMENTO, Calif. — More than 700 students at California State University, Sacramento, signed the “One Student” pledge to prevent sexual assault. The campaign comes after a semester in which seven sex crimes were reported to campus police.
Students who signed the pledge vowed to respect the sexual boundaries of their partners and intervene if they witnessed anyone taking advantage of an intoxicated person, among other things, The Sacramento Bee reports.
Of the seven sex crimes reported last semester, four were rapes. In 2009, two sex crimes were reported, and in 2008 there were none.
