CS Opinion Poll Results on Weapons, Legal Drinking and Driving Ages
LOS ANGELES
Two hundred Campus Safety magazine subscribers provided their opinions on whether weapons should be allowed on campus, the legal drinking age and the legal driving age.
Most respondents (56 percent) indicated they are not in favor of allowing students, faculty and staff who have legally obtained weapons to carry concealed weapons on campus. Respondents who said they worked for institutions of higher education were even less likely to be in favor of concealed weapons being allowing on campus. Sixty-four percent were opposed to the idea.
When asked if the legal drinking age should be lowered, 78 percent of all respondents said no. More than half of all respondents (56 percent) said the legal driving age should be increased from 16 to 17 or 18.
