Regardless of the type used, an RFP generally requests descriptions of the following attributes of the bidding contract security company:

  • Vendor qualifications and history
  • Management approach
  • Personnel selection process and officer retention strategies
  • Experience in the industry being served
  • References
  • Background checks
  • Officer training (e.g. first aid, CPR, AED)
  • Licensing
  • Location of office
  • Size of staff
  • Management structure
  • Insurance (e.g. workers’ compensation, commercial general liability, auto liability, umbrella coverage)
  • Scope of services
  • Quality controls
  • Billing rates for personnel
  • Officer benefits (medical, dental, life insurance)
