Conn. State Police ID Weapons In Newtown Shooting

The Connecticut State Police has released details about the specific weapons recovered from the scene of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on Dec. 14 in Newtown.

Three weapons were seized from inside the school and a fourth was recovered from Adam Lanza’s car, according to a state police release.

Inside the school, troopers recovered two handguns—a SIG Sauer P226 9mm and Glock G20 10mm—and a Bushmaster XM15-E2S .223-caliber rifle. Several 30-round magazines for the rifle were also recovered.

Troopers recovered an Izhmash Canta-12, a 12-gauge semi-auto shotgun more commonly known as a Saiga-12, from Lanza’s car outside the school.
