TUCSON, Ariz. — Amid complaints and reports that she created a hostile work environment for employees, Pima Community College’s (PCC) Police Chief Stella Bay resigned Friday from her position.
Campus officers expressed that they had no confidence in Bay, who served on the school’s police force for seven years. Officers further stated that Bay had poisoned morale to the point of jeopardizing campus safety, the Associated Press reports.
On June 22, PCC named Manuel Amado as Bay’s replacement. Amado, who has worked with the department since 2004, will manage 38 full-time and 22 part-time employees.
