Campus Officer Attacked by Swordsman Leaves Hospital

A campus officer who fatally shot a sword-wielding man has left the hospital, after receiving treatment for a severed finger, reports the Denver Post.

The officer was attacked at 6 a.m. Saturday on the Auraria Campus near the Tivoli Student Center. He opened fire after the man refused to obey orders and swung the sword.

The Medical Examiner’s office is still attempting to identify the man.
