Colo. Gov. Signs School Bullying Bill

COLORADO — Governor John Hickenlooper signed House Bill 1254 into law on May 13. The legislation requires school districts to implement policies to prevent bullying.

In addition, the bill provides grants for prevention programs, KKTV reports. It also updates the definition of bullying to include online incidents.

The bill has been popular with gay and lesbian advocacy groups, because it specifically protects lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered youth.
