Student-to-Employee Ratios
In four years, the ratio of students-to-public-safety-department employees has shifted. For the smallest institutions with fewer than 3,000 students, the ratio has increased by 60%, while the ratio for small- to mid-sized schools has decreased by anywhere from 31% for schools with 3,000-5,000 students to 8% for campuses with 9,001-15,000 students. Larger schools saw significant increases for the most part, with the largest respondents more than doubling the number of employees in their departments. (Note: Sample size for this question was not as large as other questions, so we cannot assume as much statistical accuracy as the other questions.)
