LONDON — Charges were dropped against a nurse accused of contaminating saline in a hospital. The woman now plans to sue police.
Rebecca Leighton spent 42 days in lockup, the Daily Mail reports. Now, police believe that two individuals are responsible for poisoning saline solutions, which led to the deaths of seven patients at Stepping Hill Hospital.
Police found evidence of two different sets of fingerprints on the saline containers. The investigation has been hampered over the past two months because there was a lack of security in the area where the saline was stored, and police had trouble establishing who had access.
