Calif. Hospital Upgrades Infant Security

BANNING, Calif. — San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital has implemented a new baby monitoring system.

The system uses soft bracelets that fit onto a newborn’s ankle, KESQ.com reports. The bracelets send a signal so hospital staff knows where babies are at all times in the maternity ward.

If an infant is taken from the ward, the system automatically locks exits and sounds an alarm.
