BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – A former Bowling Green State University employee has pleaded not guilty to buying computers and electronics worth $400,000 with school money and then selling them online.

Michael McHugh, 44, was an employee of the university for 11 years and was manager of the Northwest Ohio Regional Book Depository. He is suspected of slowly buying the items from Apple Computers, Office Depot and other stores, starting in 2001. McHugh’s purchases, however, increased in 2003 and were discovered this fall.

He was fired Nov. 2 and has been in jail since Dec. 1. McHugh has yet to post his $100,000 bail.
