ITHACA, N.Y. — In an effort to increase security on campus, Cornell University has added two canine units to its police force to help locate explosive devices.
The university received a grant from Homeland Security, which allowed the school to bring on two dogs to the team, YNN.com reports. The canines also contribute their services to surrounding law enforcement agencies.
The dogs continue to undergo training. In the future, Cornell officials hope to expand to tracking humans.
