Boise State Improves Athletic Event Security

Albertsons Stadium officials will deploy walk-through metal detection; encourage use of see-through bags.

Boise State University has announced changes in how it handles security at Albertsons Stadium.

Football game attendees will be encouraged but not required to leave their bags at home or in their vehicles. Another option will be for them to use a clear bag.

The school will also adopt walk-through metal detectors. Attendees will be encouraged to arrive at events early so that everyone will be able to get in early enough to see the games.

Although the state of Idaho now allows holders of permits to carry concealed weapons on some part of campus, guns and other weapons will still not be allowed at events at Albertsons Stadium.
