Firefighters have discovered the remains of an unknown victim in a vehicle that caught fire on the Bridgeway Island Elementary School campus in West Sacramento.
Authorities towed the charred vehicle nearly eight hours after the fire was first reported. Investigators are unable to determine the cause of the fire or the identity of the badly burnt victim.
The vehicle had out-of-state license plates and was not reported stolen. Police will continue to investigate the circumstances of the victim’s death.
