Authorities Seek Mother for Taking Child From Hospital

PHOENIX – Police are searching for an 11-year-old girl who was removed from the Phoenix Children’s Hospital cancer ward on Wednesday night by her mother.

The girl, identified as Emily, was being treated for leukemia and still has a catheter in her chest, reports ABC News. Her arm had also been amputated due to an infection. Hospital officials are concerned the remaining catheter could cause another infection.

It is not clear why the mother, named Norma, took her daughter from the hospital.
