Accomplice in Clementi Case Accepts Plea Deal

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Molly Wei, a former student from Rutgers University who watched a Web video of Tyler Clementi’s sexual encounter with another man that was secretly taken by Clementi’s roommate, has accepted a plea deal.

Wei must complete a three-year program including 300 hours of community service as well as counseling on cyberbullying and alternative cultural lifestyles, CNN reports. If she completes the program without additional legal troubles, the two counts of invasion of privacy filed against her will be dropped.

The deal also means she will have to testify against Dharun Ravi, Clementi’s roommate who filmed the video and streamed it live over the Internet.
