7 Students Ingest Drugs at N.C. High School

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Seven students at Midwood High School were taken to the hospital on Feb. 20 after consuming a controlled substance.

Around 9:40 a.m., dispatchers received a call about a sick student who was showing signs of dizziness. When paramedics arrived at the school for ninth graders only, they discovered several sick students.

Five students were taken to Carolinas Medical Center, while the other two were taken to Presbyterian Hospital. All students have non-life threatening conditions.

The substance is unknown, although officials are investigating the substance and who brought it on the school’s premises.
