OAKLAND, Calif. – Gunfire broke out Thursday evening during graduation events at Skyline High School. Three were wounded during the ordeal.
An adult male and female were shot on the north side of campus and taken to a local hospital in stable condition. A third victim who reportedly was also shot was “self transported” to the hospital, reports KTVU.
The incident happened just before 7:45 p.m. and apparently stemmed from a dispute in the parking lot, although the facts remain murky, reports KGO.
Law enforcement detained two individuals.
Witnesses told KGO they heard what they thought were confetti poppers. However, they realized it was a shooting when they saw people running and smoke from the gunfire.
After the shooting, police safely dispersed the crowds.
