2 Eye-Catching Video Demos: LILIN & IC Realtime

Take a look at two video demos for LILIN's 120 fps camera and IC Realtime's 720-degree camera to really get a full understanding of the most innovative technology on the market.

Among the hundreds of impressive cameras, recorders, 4K video and other CCTV solutions at ISC West 2014 last month, two demos stood out as truly unique: IC Realtime’s 720-degree camera and LILIN’s 120 fps camera.

CS’ sister site CE Pro previously wrote about IC Realtime’s latest gem, but without a demonstration of the camera, it was hard to grasp the concept.

So here’s the demo, which shows how you can scan up, down and around and you’ll see no warping of the picture.

The camera provides a truly immersive experience. Via the accelerometers in your smart device, you don’t even need to swipe. Just tilt the tablet to gain a different vantage point.

Imagine how it would look with Google Glass.

IC Realtime has not revealed a price on the new camera, but the company offers a 360-degree camera for $1,500 so we can imagine this double-pleasure will retail for less than $3,000.

Almost as impressive as the ICRealtime demo was something seemingly mundane but definitely wow-worthy when you see it in person.

It’s the 120 fps camera from LILIN, a leading CCTV provider in Europe and an up-and-comer in the U.S.

Compared to LILIN’s product, the typical 30 fps camera looks like a blur, as shown in the video below.

You can actually see the numbers on a spinning Roulette wheel, as the camera’s shutter opens and closes in 1/20,000 of a second.

Product manager Steve Hu says the applications are numerous. In India, the product is used in a diamond factory to watch over the tiniest of gems.
Elsewhere, the cameras are mounted beneath trains to capture irregularities in the tracks below.

The fast camera can easily capture license plates of speeding vehicles, and reveal the tiniest errors in machining.

Could it, perhaps, unravel the secrets of the best magicians?
