Innovative technologies and solutions lie at the heart of a good security system installation. That’s why, for more than 15 years, CS sister publication Security Sales & Integration’s Top 30 program has provided a forum to spotlight the most innovative creations that SSI’s editorial team members have come across in the preceding 12 months.

Veteran SSI columnists Paul Boucherle (Business Fitness) and Bob Dolph (Tech Talk) have once again each selected 15 items spanning the spectrum of smart and savvy installing contractor tools of the trade.

The Top 30 Technology Innovations of the Year is more than a typical product awards program (of which the industry has more than enough). It does not involve submissions for eligibility, fees, judging biases or vendor favors. It also is not limited to products alone as services or any instrument that can muster better out-comes are fair play.

The innovations here run the gamut, touching on everything from access control, to emergency notification, to video surveillance, to risk mitigation. There’s even a book on the list. Although not all of them apply to end-user campuses, the vast majority do and are worth checking out.

As you go through the Top 30 Tech Innovations, we encourage you to think about how the products and technologies showcased can improve your next system deployment or deliver an enhanced outcome for your school, university, or healthcare facility.

Congratulations to each of the organizations represented on this list. Your research and development ingenuity, dedication to excellence and commitment earned you a place among this elite group.
