1 Killed in Elementary School Parking Lot Shootout

Police suspect at least two teenagers were involved in a shootout at Elolf Elementary School in Texas while students were inside the school.

One person is dead and another is in the hospital after police suspect a shootout occurred in a Texas elementary school parking lot July 24.

The shootings occurred in a parking lot at Elolf Elementary School in Converse around 1 p.m. while children were inside the school, according to expressnews.com.

Authorities received a call from a man claiming his son had been shot in the parking lot but found the lot deserted when they arrived. Eventually a teenager was discovered a few blocks away dead in the driver’s seat of his car.

Another teen went to Northeast Methodist Hospital that day to treat a bullet wound on his shoulder.

Investigators said in a statement they are trying to determine what role each teenager played in the shooting. They also said they have not spoken to the man who called police originally.
