An unidentified 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that happened at a McDonald’s across the street from Auburn University (AU) early Sunday morning.

Evan Mikale Wilson, 20, was killed at the scene, reports NewsWest 9. Additionally, a 17-year-old male, 19-year-old female and 21-year-old male Auburn University student were transported to a local medical center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The fifth victim, a 16-year-old, was life-flighted to Piedmont Columbus Regional for critical injuries, reports WRBL.

The shots were fired just before 2:30 a.m., only hours after the first AU football game where AU beat Alabama State University 63-9. Auburn Police Division officers were near the incident location because they were dispersing a large crowd.

Investigators say there appears to have been an altercation right before the shooting. They do not believe the attack was random.
